THE KANO STATE GOVERNMENT OPINION

The Kano state government has expressed its opposition to the tax bill that is currently before the Nigerian parliament which President Tinubu has sent to the parliament.


Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who was represented by his deputy, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, said this during the celebration of the new year 2025 at Ma'ahaha Square in Kano.


In a statement signed by the deputy governor's spokesman, Ibrahim Garba, the governor said, "This tax bill will not solve our economic problems. Kano is opposed to this resolution that will affect the welfare of the community


This is coming at the same time that the federal government is continuing its dispute with the governor of Bauchi state, Bala Muhammad who has criticized the code.
